Pointless Pursuit |

Handed down for generations, a myth we're asked to believe That if we practice long enough, perfection we'll achieve. Driven by it day and night, consuming even our dreams, But staying just outside our grasp, unattainable it seems. Some search all their lives in this perfectly pointless pursuit. Never realizing perfection is a point that's always moot. As what they seek, they cannot find, no matter how long they try For reaching even greatest heights, they'll never reach that high. I share with you this knowledge gained as I know of which I speak. For I chased this sorry demon until my mind and soul were weak. Freedom is all mine since I have halted this poor pursuit. And now my most "unperfect" seeds bear most awesome fruit. If you remember as a child of God, your glory will fall short. And no matter what society says, she's not your final court. Then you'll look upon your life and proceed with careful reflection Before persisting in the pointless pursuit that is called perfection. To do our best is all we can, whether woman, or whether man, to strive for God, to walk our best, as we meet his every test. ~*~ Oops - Patricia - you inspired... A good morning read...thank you! |

Pat, Trish, Patty, Nickname??? Interesting perspective. Surrender and acceptance of upmost importance along with "My grace is sufficiant unto you" works. I always thought trying to stay perfect was the problem, rather than persuing it... This reads smoothly and gives one something to think about. Hugs, Pat (Trish, Patrice, Patty) ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |
