You talk but I can't listen Your words hurt more than your hands The scars you leave with your words are so much worse than the scars left by your hands I left so many times But like a magnet you always seem to pull me back in I try to leave again today but my feet feel like bricks I can't move I see your fist coming toward my face But I don't feel anything I think i've finally gone numb This time you walk out and I stay I pick myself up off the floor After I realized I wasn't standing up anymore I walk towards the door to leave I finally start to feel something Pain But not because you hit me Because you never loved me yet I'm still sad about leaving I think I still care about you And that hurts more than your words do |

"Because you never loved me ~yet~?" You certainly did capture how the abused think, staying in a relationship with a coward. Hope no children are involved for too often they repeat the patterns of parents when they are adults. Don't know if this is your experience but if it is too bad you don't love him..... ~enough to leave~. Hugs, Pat  ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

Oh, my friend, how well you described a situation that too many of us have to suffer through. The physical pain you get over, but the thoughts and memories are harder to overcome. Yes, be careful who you let into your life, but don't close the door completely...  Accept these small gifts from my gypsy heart ~~S~~ |
