With new days light, a voice whispered unto me.
Through still slumbering eyes, no being did I see.
So with mundane thought, I discarded all I heard.
For precious time it would take to discern any word.

As day tediously unfolded, no peace did I find.
Hours spent wrestling with the world in my mind.
In this day, there be not found one single pleasure.
No accomplishments made, none I could measure.

As night made its return, I reminisced the day.
Certain I'd find where it had all gone astray.
Suddenly I recalled the whispers of first light.
And all made sense in the tranquillity of night.

In morning I ignored Your glorious presence.
Thereby missing the splendor of Your essence.
"Never again," I cry.  "You have made it all clear."
Not it's You I await, and Your word I shall hear.

Had you capitalized you and your I'd have been able to identify this easier, but I take this to mean it is God to whom you are referring....at least that is my take....and if we would just be still and listen before we start our days, how much better they might be.....

Enjoyed, Hugs, Pat

Beautiful! The morning whispers are important! The listening too! I also think you are speaking of a Higher Presence here ...

This IS the answer, Patricia...we sometimes feel
that folks will think we're silly to listen
to that inner voice of calm compassion...
but it's there, it really is...

if we just stop to listen.

Thank you!
