It's a muggy day, today,
And April showers take their time
to find their way to New Orleans
so I thought I'd spice some wine
and pour it over ice.

There's box fans in the windows
revolving white noise to the time
signature of Mozart grace.
I trace a cube upon my neck
and watch the tiny rivulet
disappear between my breasts
tracing delicate black lace
of slip--
I ponder Wolfgang's hands.

It's been told that his hands
were of such a size
that they could span the keys
creating chords of quivering
and delicately hammering
beyond the capabilities
of average generalities--
lingering beyond timeline.

I listened, pondering his hands
as his passion pounded me
ice in melt
it disappeared
within the "vee" of heat.
I sipped my wine
and stole again
cube of ice from the glass,
and he played me once again--
Amadeus, wine and me?

Oh yes.
It must be spring...

I'll take the muggy
over the chill...
pour another glass, dear,
and we'll invite them all...
Mozart, Bach, Beethoven....

and let the windows rattle...

~sigh~ what a picture you paint. takes me back to my one visit to New Orleans. yes, it was raining then too, but it did nothing to dampen the fond memories i have for that wonderful weekend. i can almost hear the whir of the fan blades and the patter of rain on the street.....

Good grief, you even dried up some Oregon rain with this steam.  Lovely picture words.  KJ
