I'm sorry that I pushed when you told me that you cared, I'm sorry that I turned when you went to kiss my cheek, I'm sorry that I ran when you told me that you loved me, I'm sorry that I left with out a decent goodbye. I'm sorry that I erased your messeges from my machine, I'm sorry that I accidently threw your letter in the trash, I'm sorry that I didn't answer the door when you came, I'm sorry that I stood there and watched you drive away. But of everything I am sorry for, Mostly, I am sorry for letting my fear push you away. I really did love you, I really did care, I really was hurt when I said goodbye! |

Well, my goodness....~something~ must have caused these negative reactions of this character....(I hope) .... Not putting up with someone else's meanness doesn't necessarily mean we are wrong... sorry...yes, that it couldn't work out...but I'd like to think there were lessons for both sides.... The feeling I got from this was that the subject (you?) was afraid of getting hurt again because of past experiences. Because of this (you?) pushed your present Love away. Right? The reason I guess I'm thinking along these lines is because I am so afraid that the Love of my life might lose his patience with me one day. He says that he will never leave me or let me run him off....and he's still with me after 5 years, so I'm gaining more trust in "love" every day. Didn't mean to say all that, but your poem spoke to me. If this is the situation and you are the person you're writing about, please talk to your Love and try to explain....just give them this poem and it will help. My Love and I talk a lot about our feelings...our doubts and fears, and it definitely helps our relationship. He has been hurt in the past, also. I hope things work out for you.
