Tonight my solitude envelops me.
When silence should manifest serenity,
But stillness compels me to search inside
To find endless tears I never cried.

Pushed down, held back, deep within-
Forget all emotions and commit my sin.
Allow my heart to grow cold and hard,
And sensibly place all thoughts on guard.

No point in reflection; the past is gone,
In this cold nights stillness I will go on
Supplying my mind with futile frivolity
With hope that numbness shall set me free.

But in one single moment I recognize,
It is the heart which woefully dies.
With failure to face the emotion within,
The mind commits but the cruelest sin.

Good write. But don't be so hard on yourself. Live the pain, go through it and overcome it.
The sun will shine again.

To acknowledge that which
we hold so deeply hidden,
is honesty at its best...

You do have a way...I'm going to enjoy
your writings...

These two lines nearly made me cry...
Great work, thanx for sharing...

Patricia, this poem really touches me.
I relate to it very much. If it is concerning
yourself, I know that it must have been
hard to write. Even though the poem is sad,
you wrote it beautifully.

I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly dreaming I am a man.

Ah my friend, whether it's you or not, you wrote it very well and we could see, hear and, most of important, feel the words.

Enjoyed...reminds me of times I wanted to cry and couldn't or times I was crying to much and was begging to stop...we can only handle so much pain on a given day so sometimes we manage to put it away for future comsumption...James
