never ending
reasoning is now ominously
unrighteous and sanity is retreating
behind the words the words

I cannot stop them
hatred and bitterness have stolen
my defenses
round and round the words I go
each step closer
to the all consuming
darkness

in recognition of desperation
I look up

there are still
stars in the heavens

the world has not ended
as I had supposed

there is a higher power of whom
I had selfishly over looked…
My stomping had covered
His prompting

patiently He waited
for me to ask

Father take these words
they are but tools of torture.
Lord I accept your guidance
and ask humbly for peace
from the words.
Amen.

My dear jellybeans, you do not have to imagine that you are near the light, it is radiating from you! A very up-lifting poem--literally!

I love these lines... how well they describe the fact that we so often pray and then forge ahead full steam, too busy to listen for answers. *S* Excellent write!
