Seems there is only so much room
before telescopic lenses focus in zoom
On the the life of war intermissions
on extent of purpose and moral missions
antenna pick up news of another offensive
all for the benefit of mankind's defensive
take on alternatives at halting predictive
fear on its own turf...for this is the era
of the chemical and biological
not quite what was considered logical
back when war meant
confrontation of visible forces
some have turned to other sources.

When there is no respect for their own kind
on home fronts, opinions changed some minds
they would demonstrate in each major city
war would still rage...a foregone pity
rocket ships prepared for nightly launches
enemy retreated on bitten haunches
through atmospheric stages
across belligerent mortared skies
or headline topics on the fly
seems aired news topics project just so far
pressure behind dug trenches mounts a bar
decayed parts...eminated stenches
soldier's hand...a cross he clenches....
alternatives to avoid another stike?

There is only so much room on the field
before the doctor comes out to say,
"Sorry can't see you too soon!"

I liked it

Kind of a rap thing I think. not my usual faire but it was great.

Yesterday is ash, tomorrow is smoke; only today does the fire burn.

little wing,

the clutching clenches heart strings..I guessed it would;0

Nancy,

there are theatre pieces being written on all this now

JP,

It has something of a rap protest poem to it
difficult in keeping the lines light enough
so that the reader doesn't get bogged down
too much..thanks for sharing
