Birth of My Sin

I struggle to free myself
From the confines of a dry womb
With umbilical cord wrapped
Around my neck
Losing its sole purpose to soon
Crying out to no one
In a silent screech
Nothing as it should be
Starting out breech
Tearing and Ripping
At slick pink uterine skin
Tormented by
The birth of my sin

Where did this come from?
One line brought back a memory
some 30 + years old...

my first daughter was born
with the umbilical cord wrapped
around her neck several times;
fortunately, it was four times its
natural length...or she would have
suffocated.  I had never heard of
anything like that....

so while this may be off-topic of your
poem, it did bring back the memory of
her birth...

Now, where DID this come from?

It is so funny you ask that..because I have NO clue!  I was watching TV Tuesday night and bam! I wrote it as it came to me and that is what I ended up with....I wish I knew.
