Birth of My Sin I struggle to free myself From the confines of a dry womb With umbilical cord wrapped Around my neck Losing its sole purpose to soon Crying out to no one In a silent screech Nothing as it should be Starting out breech Tearing and Ripping At slick pink uterine skin Tormented by The birth of my sin |

Where did this come from? One line brought back a memory some 30 + years old... my first daughter was born with the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck several times; fortunately, it was four times its natural length...or she would have suffocated. I had never heard of anything like that.... so while this may be off-topic of your poem, it did bring back the memory of her birth... Now, where DID this come from? |

It is so funny you ask that..because I have NO clue! I was watching TV Tuesday night and bam! I wrote it as it came to me and that is what I ended up with....I wish I knew. Susan |
