Once not long ago
I had a special friend that you never did know
He had my heart in ways that no other friend did
I thought I found a friend for life but I was only a kid
If I had troubles he would be there
And every night he was in my prayer
Through middle school he was there till the end
Every smile with giggles to send
The start of two different high schools he promised to call
And he kept his promise throughout the fall
As snow began to stick to the ground
His voice was nowhere to be found
I thought I would be lonley for the rest of my life
Living on grief and strife
My long calls with him I miss so dear
Thinking about it brings a tear
I tried to forget about him and move on
But the bounce in my step I thought was forever gone
But as times became so hard i couldnt bare
A new friend came and helped me with care
Now were unseparable wherever we go
He brings out all the happiness that life has to show
Without him I dont know where Id be
He helped me set my feelings free
When im lonley and cry each night
He is there telling me to never give up the fight
He promised to be there through the good and the bad
And I will always be there for him when he is happy or sad
He is the only one who reaches out to hold my hand
I love him more than he will ever understand
