NIght

The darkness looms as twilight steals the day
And snuffs the flickering flame to shades of gray
Sweet rays of hope that filled my eyes with light
Are now succumbing to the edge of night

And I, in turn, give in to evening’s hold
Relinquishing my grasp on beams of gold
That slip through buttery fingers clenching tight
To save the day from slipping into night

Sun’s radiance sliced through the bitter cold
Like puppet strings of warmth to lift my soul
Without a sunbeam to suppress the fright
I lay a victim to the dark of night

Oh moon, sweet moon, don’t leave me here like this
Shine down a moonbeam’s touch to gently kiss
My face and hands with iridescent light
And let my lonely spirit dance the night

But, no, you’ll not allow a moon’s caress
To filter through the black of helplessness
Until the glow of dawn comes into sight
I’m captured as a prisoner of the night

I wishthat I could let my dreams take flight
They, too, are caged in deepness of the night

Liz--You capture not only night, but a lonely feeling of loss...hope that all is well with you, dear friend.

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Elizabeth, this is so very saddening, sweet friend, I used to dwell out of the light always as I was always abused and felt this would always recur again and again until I turned to Him and find light now! (sad sigh) I send many angel hugs your way, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Elizabeth, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Liz, your poem really got to me. I felt like wrapping my "wings" around you, enfolding you with love and light--to comfort you. You are such a gentle and beautiful soul and you are deserving of the very best that life has to offer.

A very moving write...

Warm, loving hugs,
Linda
