the day for lovers came and softly faded to gray like rose petals falling from trails of memories left behind i think of you now and that love that owned me then before we kissed goodbye today i send these wishes outward to the void filled with memories long faded remembering the time our lives were one before i closed that door and found my happiness complete in a life filled with love not from you love did not crumble ashen when the sun set fading the sky to gray |

thank you all for your words. i probably should have commented that valentines day had always been a bittersweet day to this lady. i realized yesterday it has not been that way for a long time. i work with college age young people in my church and listened wednesday night to the girls as they talked about their quest for their "soul mate". we all struggle to find that one "some one". (the guys are not quite so open in discussing romantic notions) in reaching for the dreamed for, sometimes we miss the full gift of love that fills our everyday lives. I said goodbye to love that brought too much pain... and God filled that void with so much love He had to grow my heart to hold it all. Sometimes our quest for the perfect love blinds us to the different kinds of wonderful love we have in the right now. happy are we when we appeciate the love we have. it can only grow our spirits so we are prepared for that one love when our hearts find it. out of this contentment tumbled the words of this poem. sweet love to all of you... for what you have now... for letting it grow. and i feel blessed to have connected with you in this media... and feel my heart growing more. thank you all... noah... appreciate your hugss... more back at you. anne |

Enjoyed, wonderful point made. Ill be thinking about that all day. A dream is but a dream, you can wake up. Reality is ultimate, and those who share it with us are far more important than anything we could remember, |

Anne, I really enjoyed your poem....... I also enjoyed your wonderful reply. I agree wholeheartedly.... Only God can heal the hurt when someone who a person thought was their "soulmate" disappoints them so much. He heals our hearts gradually, instead of all at once, sometimes, so that we can grow into a more mature kind of love. I know that you are talking about all kinds of love, but a romantic relationship also has to have a firm foundation, or it won't grow in this day and age. And, God and His Love is the best foundation a couple can have. "Love makes the world go around" |
