He asked me to tell him what I was thinking,
as I choked on my words and swallowed them whole.
Tell me what you see when you reach beyond your wildest dreams
and how does it feel when you get that close to the edge?
Do you fear the unknown or do you want to throw caution to the wind.
How long can you stand to waver in the same place?

Be brave and hold onto me.

I lifted my hands and turned my face toward the sky
wishing upon the stars, tingling in their twinkling.
I thought to myself, let me go,
and let me dream the impossible dream, just once.
Instead I replied, I wish the time to remain on this side of heaven,
held in your embrace that keeps me poised when I lack the composure
that threatens to alter my state of mind.

Be gentle and let me down easy.

I asked him if he had an inkling as to what I was thinking
when the right words didn't come,
and if he knew how to read lips, need I go on?
He replied with a nod, feel free to go on and on.

Be specific, and let me take you there.

Tell me when to stop at any point that interests you,
take all the time you need.
And I replied, I'm almost there,
there, in the certainty of knowing that he always knew
and how we came to be.

A dream within a dream.

As he stood to draw the shades and let the light filter through
in those wide eye moments that we keep when we are one.
Breathing life with a single sigh,
that comes with the sweet releasing

Completing.

it's not easy to be so wise.  Emotive and personal and honest.

I should stop reading those romance novels.
You ever notice how happy they are, and how great their sex life is!!

Dream on!     I'm just kidding, I'm sure some fairy tales do come true.

Thanks for reading me Michele, Saunni, and Martie~  Hugs to all three of you~

Lori,

"dream within a dream"

And this is a layer upon a layer.
I have read this three times and come away with a little different, deeper meaning each time.  Some parts of this just stay with me. Must have tapped something within me I forgot or never recognized.

Enjoyed greatly, Hugs, Pat

Enjoyed...I think you'll get your chance...made me think of that Roy Orbison song "In dreams I walk with you, in dreams I talk to you, in dreams you're mine all of the time."   James

Oh yes, but only the brilliance of the female mind could outshine the brilliance of the female heart. Smiles from TD

(big hugggssssss) I too get that curse from reading romance novels, I wish I could be like that and be as happy as the characters in Danielle Steel's books or other romance novels are while I don't seem to be getting anywhere at the moment! (sad sigh) This is a well emotive write, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lori, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Lori!
How times have changed...I like this and what it implies.
