Dawn down passing
through a curlicue
of velvetizing
traffic
life in color
of fig-puce
bleeding
through the sea
foam leaves
begging, chewing sand,
and piece
of ruts
and stuff--
these memories
of us,
brushing
the rocks away
in the leave
of the salt waves
kelp--between the prints of us--

as if there was a difference...

smiling as I'm washed away
walking in the foam....

When I read your words - a silent melody plays inside and I close my eyes to a canvass - plain parched . . . foreboding -
only to open them seconds later to a kaleidoscope of wonder . . .

as if there was a difference...
