They took away my French Fries Gave me ‘freedom’ in return Formerly French Toast now tastes Like politics on a slow burn Chardonnay from vineyards of France Won’t be served at your next soiree In fact you can’t even call it that All ‘Frenchness’ has gone away So here we are meat and spuds Plain fare for folks with a mission Jerked around by emotional strings Held up by today’s politician I’m tired of trying to figure it out Who’s right and who is wrong I wish we were all kids again And willing to just get along |

Thank you so much for this...a little humor about a subject that really gets folks emotional these days... and sigh...y'think we'll have to return the Statue of Liberty too? |

(big hugggsssssss) Just heard Bush's incoherent speech on TV, oh well, let's get back to work re-naming umbrellas to freedom right-side up shields and parfets to fruit cups and hamburgers to liberty steaks and chapeaus to flat caps! (sad sigh) Seriously I am very disappointed, the red on our flag is bleeding crimson, the white is melting like whip cream and the blue is bleeding purple, that's all I can say, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sharon, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

wow...I just had a thought-- since I am Cajun French--y'think they are gonna send me back to CANADA? hmmm....now that may have some potential--any Canadians out there with a couch I can crash on? and if they re-name the French Quarter? I'll just go voluntarily. |

Jason? PdV... Let them call 'em freedom fries to me they're just the same! filled with great cholesterol... they're great by any name! But my nation? Show me spirit! Seems we've paid back with the best! The bodys, blood and honor, all there! And we will meet all future tests! I'm not going to play semantics... seems to me there's more to be done! but I will eat a fry in honor of the evil that's turned, and run! I know my meter is not best, but still, my heart is here... if you want a ballad, great! find the man named Balladeer! |

ROFL @ giving back a french kiss... I'm all for that... just need a volunteer! LOL My cupboard's empty of French wine For from the lowly muscadine Is made a very tasty brew That's easier on my wallet, too! But I'm glad the Aussies are with us here -I'd hate to give up my favorite beer! Love the light look, PDV... we could all use a smile! *S* |

I thought that was the silliest thing in light of the serious nature of the ccoming conflict. What did they think the french were going to get hurt so bad they would jsut change thier mind. |

Around here it was downgraded to just 'fries' many years ago. Nothing against the French, I think. Just laziness. Taking the 'French' out of things is silly, war is serious, and I wish we had more friends with us, since we're going into this. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |

Thanks for the smile this afternoon PDV!! I'm with everyone else..I'm keeping the french kisses, panties, and YES..even the skunk!! Although I kinda like the idea of "Freedom Fries". It's good to be able to laugh at the current situation a bit. Lord knows it's not a laughing matter, but the ability to find humor in it helps to make it bearable. Thanks again. Tammy |

People keep forgetting that the Statue of Liberty was a gift from France. Let's call 'em scapegoat fries. |
