A ballad plays before me on this short spring day as the daisies began to sway The chirps of crickets set the rhyme low and steady then jumps in a quick piping sound of a mocking bird a few feet of the ground continuous and unified they seem to play on joined by the rush of the wind against the leaves in the trees The melody is natures own yet I start to hum along to this special performance in a field of flowers becoming part of the harmony Note after note the day draws near and the sun begins to set the concert slowly begins to calm the mocking bird flies off into the countryside the crickets’ quiet down and the wind quits and I take my leave from Mother Nature's orchestra until the next time I just happen along |
