*The melancholy tone of Duncan's poem entitled, "popsicle sticks" reminded of this one. It's a repost from a year or so ago. Thanks Duncan! The 14th Euphoria Traffic noise, entering through the cracked pane, skims the damp windowsill before spilling to the duvet where he stirs. Trolley exhaust, clinging to the diaphanous curtain, mingles with his faint musk scenting the pillows. Purrs of contentment from well-bred calico cats curled atop iron heating grates echo the murmurs I drew from his lips a few hours before. Aromas, steeping from morning cups of tea, rising from bowls of warmed wheat arouse me while I await his waking. |

'Purrs of contentment from well-bred calico cats curled atop iron heating grates echo the murmurs I drew from his lips a few hours before. Aromas, steeping from morning cups of tea, rising from bowls of warmed wheat arouse me while I await his waking.' I like what my 'melancholy tone' reminded you of. Love the city sounds to this and the easy Sunday afternoon feeling. The title is subtlely fascinating. Any clues? I like the use of numbering, too. |

Thanks, Duncan! I'm happy the relaxed tone came through. *s The title was derived from, or more to the point, *for* Valentine's Day a few years ago when I wrote it. |
