You promised that an eternity Would be our time togethr But you answered Death's seductive call And robbed us of forever. Not even one long lasting look, Suddenly, you were just gone! Happiness left my heart that day Now hours drag on and on. To most of the world we were just friends I never shared your name Our vows weren't legal but lasting I belong to you, just the same. How can my arms ache with emptiness When my mind is so full of you? The memories of each sweet caress Accompany everything I do. In my dreams, I feel your touch But wake to a lonely bed. My cupboards hold nothing to satisfy This hunger that can't be fed. I look in the mirror and expect to see Your image with mine on the glass. I whirl, hoping to catch your warmth But you vanish much too fast. Night after night, I search the stars And hurl the question to the sky That haunts my every moment - Why did you have to die? written for K - March 2002 |

Suthern beloved one as always your writing is superb, when it is clothed in a gown of golden wisdom it is stunning. Truly excellent, often the promises of heart are reaped in long years of wonder, but sometimes they are lost in the soul of tomorrow, and you’ve written this beautifully. Personally I think I’ve never read anything so truly lovely, I do know that for me these lines are so very very real. Thank you for writing something that says what my soul cries in the lonely nights, you’ve written something that describes exactly what is too painful for me to bear right now, and written it beautifully too. Exquisite writing, utterly utterly exquisite. The flow of this is excellent, and the rhyme and meter are absolutely spot on. Beautifully presented beloved one absolutely beautiful, you know I love this one utterly utterly utterly. One of your utter best. And I thank you for the gift of your touch thank you for you. So authenic. Your empathy outstanding, your love so generous. Capturing feelings and finding a balance of expression without additional pain, not always easy. But, you managed perfectly.
