I have downloaded images in hopes to use them with my poetry as some people do but I can't seem to get them to work. I click on them to copy and then when I go in to post and right click, I don't get a 'paste' option. I have even tried the Control V, I think it is (?) I have asked folks by email but no one seems to be able to help. Is there possibly something wrong in my computer. Everything seems to be set properly. I am, however, able to copy and paste the images at Passions now. I wasn't even able to do that until yesterday after the move (?) I'm totally lost. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am one confused puppy! |

LOL...Anybody have any idea what I am talking about? When you have pictures on your hard drive shouldn't you be able to copy and paste them into a post at Passions? I see pictures in people's posts all the time....my question is how do you do it? I copied pictures from the internet but they don't let me put them into a post here unless I type them out manually. I can't do the copy and paste thing (?) HELP!! |

You can't just paste images here. They have to be linked to Passions via another page on the 'Net. If you had a web site, and had some graphics there, you could link them. Look at the 'insertable images' link at the bottom of the page. They all link to the page where they are sitting: I'll put spaces here so it will be readable: < img src = " http: //netpoets. net /img/ic17.gif "> Does that make sense to you? So, if you had a web page, you could link to an image thus: < (always begin with this) img src(this means image source - where are we going to find this graphic) = (now here is where we'll find it) "http (when you see this, you know you're going to a web page or URL) // netpoets.net (this is the name of the site where this graphic is located) img (it's an image) ic17 (this is the name of the graphic) gif (this is they type of graphic, they are usually .jpg or .gif) [This message has been edited by Poet deVine (edited 02-03-2001).] |

Thanks for explaining that Sharon. So until I get a web page of my own I can't use graphics unless of course I use the images that are already listed at Passions. I've tried setting up a web page through a couple of different places but I keep getting error messages when I try to do the set up. *sigh* Any chance of increasing the image options that are listed at Passions so that I can just use the ones here and not have to worry about figuring out how to set up my own page? |

I don't know the storage space Ron would want to use for more graphics...I guess we could ask...and Nan has a site here at Netpoets so SHE has some graphics on the server. Maybe she would let us set up a 'library' of graphics that we can use? |

Denise, Some people find the web pages and take the graphics from there, then link them into their posts. I think we should all get a page, our own, to be able to load our own graphic on here at PIP... Whatcha think? [This message has been edited by Poet deVine (edited 02-03-2001).] |

WAIT!! You can't link to another's page!! UNLESS it's your own because you are then taking their bandwidth!! A lot of graphics sites nowadays have passwords to protect from people just linking to them. So be careful. |

Thanks Nan! I tried geocities before, as well as angelfire. Both gave me error messages when I tried to do the set up. Maybe it was my old browser. I'll give it another try and let you know how it goes! Thanks for your help as well, Marge! |

Wow......Poet deVine......that 'Graphic Library' idea is a winner!! There are enough graphic hogs on this site to make that project an easy one, except for the space maybe. I know I have plenty to contribute!! What a great idea!! ~~~ enjoy yourself ~~~ it's later than you think! |
