What, no teens only forum? |

Hehe, I just feel like complaining. If all you bad 'ole adults get your own forum to talk about old people things in (yeah, I know...can't talk about denture cleaning in front of the younguns *grins*), then us teens should get our own forum so no one has to listen to our occasional teen angst poetry that we all are guaranteed to put out, but no one ever seems to want to read. Well, that's my complaint and suggestion and everything, so that's all for now. Don't talk about dentures too much in your new forum though, might get too excited and overload your already weak bladder system. *evil evil grin* The Green Polar Bear |

Hi there GPB. Well, in my view, teens are only teens when they act like teens. Some act like children, so I guess we would need a Children Only Forum, while others act like adults, and they can use the rest of the forums. A rare few act like senior citizens, so I guess we would also need a Internal Old Fart Forum. Then there are the anal teens, so we can put a sub-cat under the Teen Only Forum for Proctoly Verbose Teens. And then, for racial parity, we would have to have additional forums for every single ethnic/political/religious/language/gender/sexual/economical/mental/educational group out there. Hmm...not too sure about that last one...might give our wonderful Administrator a coronary. ------------------ Le Jongleur Aspirante |

Heh, I like that But even so it's still splitting things up and stereotyping. You don't act like a senior citizen, but you may have a characteristic that is stereotypically reserved for them. You may act like a childish prick... but that doesn't mean you aren't a kindhearted and good father or mother, Or grandmother or grandfather. People mature at different rates in different ways and at different times. No age bracketts required. STILL... Thinking like that does allow variation and individuality to how teenagers look upon themselves and how adults view teenagers; That, my friend, is a very big step in the right direction. Thanks for taking the time to post that message ------------------ -Love is a dangerous emotion, You can brighten the lives of others immensly with it, Or You can destroy a person in a way that is unparalleled. you were griping about having an upper-teens-only forum, weren't you? Well I read this and all of the suggestions for more and more specific forums, and how ridiculous it would get, and instantly thought of you. |

no, i wanted a median between teen and open. one for barely-teens [eighteen, nineteen] and younger adults [twenty-something]. forgive me for wanting a little grey. at least i don't go begging for it. however i am adjusting to haven. i do enjoy it in there. /jen/ i'm so bitterly disappointed. betty, i think it's time you leave now. |

Well Jen (and the other girl, sorry, I don't know your name), I'm thirteen and act twice my age (most of the time) and it wouldn't be fair to people like me, would it? You are either a teen, or you go to the other places. Jen, everyone accepts you for who you are, and not your age. There are people here that are old enough to be me grandparents, and they don't care, they read my poetry and critique it without consideration of my age. At least I hope they do. Point taken, you are happy, right? Never be normal! |

Hehe, teens had a forum, they lost it. Why? Gee, I guess they aren't as grown us as they think. Hehe. |

you do not act twice your age. especially when you go on nonsensical rants about pickles and whatnot. do you even know any twenty-six year olds? do you have any idea of how they behave, or think? honestly. how could you even consider yourself at the same level of someone with a family, or a university education. someone who knows how to drive, who can vote, who can go to a bar without being asked for id. you're still in middle school. you haven't even had the chance to learn what life is about. you are still a child, you have a lot of learning and growing left. /jen/ i'm freezing, i'm starving, i'm bleeding to death. everything's fine. Things are relative, Jen. You might think of Wind as a passenger car, rolling along at 90 or 95 mph when she can get away with it, and yourself as a custom race car that consistently breaks the 200 mph barrier. But to a 747 zipping over your heads at 500 mph, you're still both cars, with far more similarities than differences. No one recognizes their own immaturities. The young always say they "act much older," and ironically, the old always claim they still "act like kids." And you know what? To that ray of light that just took over eight minutes to travel from the sun to the Earth at 386,000 miles per second, all the cars and all the planes are just standing still. From that vantage point, Wind and you and I are like peas in a pod, without enough differences to tell the differences. Each of us has a long way to grow. |

Wind - does that mean that when you are 26, you'll act like a 13-year-old? Because if you're 13 and act like you're 26... then this is obviously how you'll act when you're 26, or your statement wouldn't be true... Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored. |

Actually, I know a few 26 year olds that go off on tangents about things like pickles. I think that's a good thing!!! |

I'm 27, I never knew that was old!!! Oh MY Gosh! When did that happen? You know what is sad, when I was 18 I thought 27 was old now 47 seems a lot younger to me. My Grandmother told me I don't know what old is. She is 77. I asked her if she felt she was 27 at heart. she said no, no I feel 77. hahahah Ohhh I get such a kick out of her. Okay lost my train of thought. anyhoo Happy Holiday's everyone. |

Jen, sorry if I'm missing your point, but I think that age is what you choose to be. I do not claim to be old, or wise. I am not so young that I think I know everything, as ... I-can't-remember-who said "I am not young enough to know everything." I know I have much to learn, yet, I have learned things that many people never will. I have the ability to have a serious conversation with a thirty year old for a good length of time, and I do so. I also have the ability to be the way I am online. I don't think that its safe to assume that anyone is mature or immature based on how they behave online, because people ... ack... I can't remember what I was going to say. I'm so tired. If I remember what I was going to say, I'll come back. I need sleep. Kielo |

Just because your older does not mean your wiser. You can learn a lot from people of all ages. |

Miah you don't know how correct that statement was as the smartest thing I ever learned was from a 3 year old, who just happens to be my best friend By the way, grownups rave and go on about weird things too, He he, ask Nan about her new electric potatoe peeler, or Liz Santos about her floor washer, and I don't plan on ever growing up - ever. I am older, maybe a tad wiser, but boy do I sure have a lot to learn, and believe it or not, lately it is from a 4 year old. |

Mysteria, I know just what you mean. Your never to old to learn. My Gram is 77, she said she still does not know everything, she is always learning. |
