At first blush it’s only a poem like others that have gone before but bide your time, read between the lines you’ll find it never rains but it pours First and foremost is the rhyme it must tickle your fancy just so and when all is said and all is done the riddle in the rhyme, you’ll know. Certainly, It does my heart good to see you here, reading poetry I hope my lines today have not added insult to injury With all due respect, I beg the milk of human kindness from you tho flattery will get you nowhere could you spare a good word or two? Do not damn with faint praise nor be a fair weather friend I can face the music that your critique will send If still waters run deep in here it’s a blessing in disguise for each line is written to get you right between the eyes So read from top to bottom I expect no words of praise but try to count how many phrases are cliches! *Shhh..if you read this post before and know the total, please don't give it away!!! I've never read it before but I get 21???? I might have gone too fast? It's very clevery written and it's an enjoyable read! Those cliches get thrown onto our everyday speech so easily that we don't even notice ourselves using them. Thanks for the fun! |

(smiles) Ooohhhhhhh...I can't even begin to count all the cliches in this, but all I know is there's a lot, and they're still used a lot today! (kiss on cheek) This is such a beautifully clever poem, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sharon, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton |

Sharon- How fun...I love it. Now...let's see...23? Or...could this be a trick question? LOL! I'm too tired to give it much thought right now, so I may have to come back later, for a re-count. Thanks for the smile and the bit of fun. Hugs, ~Vicky "...until you have read the verse on his heart, |

Sharon, This is fantastic! I once replied to a critic of my poetry that due to the nature of a cliche, each has as a unique meaning in its evolution, different that the sum of it's individual words. When properly used, cliches tell their own wonderful story. And it would be fun to just write a poem of cliches. You are close, dear Lady! Thanks for this delightful piece of Art. Go! Lady! Go! I've got it..! they all are cliches depending on where your coming from. That's what I get for knowing 3 different languages. This is excellent piece of art and skill. Thank you for the read. dale |

Sharon, I loved this! So often poetry can get too serious and it's nice to sometimes sit back with something like this and just smile. Michael Michael Auguste~ |

PDV, Why, 19's just a drop in the bucket, if you get my drift. To make a long story short, I thought there was a whole slew of 'em. To write something like you have here, now that's entertainment. Doc |

Ah Sharon ... masterfully written my friend. To pull so many cliches together and have the poem flow so well, could not have been an easy challenge. Well done indeed! Best wishes, /Kit |
