I love the wind through my hair There is a certain temperature about it all when the sun is just close enough to burn my skin, a pale pink (my skin is very fair, you know) that heat that can scald like a shower and pelts almost like small balls of water That kind of heat When it’s trapped inside a sheath of chill like this little porous membrane encircling each heat molecule – like a Lemonhead scrunch-your-face sour on the outside, for just as long as you can take it and then pure sugar I love that kind of wind through my hair winding its way through each strand can’t decide whether or not to sit and bathe in it or put on a sweater It’s life, you know that breath of life announcing the birth of things and it seems to me that everything around me loves the feel of the wind the trees are starting to chatter again it’s been months I can even hear the rivers giggling straining their sandy belts with plump bellies full of runoff times like this, when you’re glad this can’t be bottled. the sheer commercialization of it would taint the product ruin the high Please tell me that this is how it will always be that I’ll see this time of year with the same child-like wonder instead of letting my years take it for granted I can handle the beginnings of gray, even the little etches around my eyes Just don’t take my wind away… |

very well written, it's one of those mood poems I call them. We all must grow old...but the wind will never die. |

This is beautiful....I can't even think of anything more to say to this. You've left me speechless. ~sky I'm in charge, and I say question authority! |
