Peace Wounded From the furious wars of hatred To the depths of bloodied oceans Children witness the savagery The aged watch their dreams vanish Piles of bodies, torn to shreads Burnt, tortured, decimated Seen with innocent eyes of youth All across the earth, from East to West From North to South. Brothers, and fathers in civil wars Mothers and daughters, subdued in tears Leaders fill the empty halls As others build concrete walls The rivers are running dry The air is dim, the sun rise lazily Heading back in time before industries awakening The poor are getting poorer, starving, dying Peace is wounded, the white dove's wing broken Peace is crying, for nobody listens Peace calls out for patience Peace asks why we hate each other When love is the greatest gift of all Peace demands we lay down our selfishness And walk together, live, and share our world. Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love |
