Dark Stranger He entered the room as if he were King and all were his subjects. That was how he made us feel. I watched , hanging back not wanting him to see me, fearing I could not live up to his expectations of what a woman should be. Even the whispers didn't tell me who this important man was. Only that he was a dignitary from Italy. This reception was in his honor. He started making the rounds and I could not take my eyes off him, as I tried to hide myself behind others who were so anxious to shake his hand. Who was this mysterious man? Dark haired and so full of himself ? He moved in my direction. I trembled. Then they pulled away from me to get closer to him, exposing me. He approached , smiled, took my hand in his and kissed it. I was only a waitress serving the elegant buffet. I am of Spanish heritage, and that was what I did for a living. The reception was held in my homeland of Spain, where this stranger had come to be honored. Looking back, I ponder and reason Why...why didn't I find out more about this foreign man, I shall never forget him, The warmth of his kiss as it brushed my hand but somehow I love that he will always remain Dark stranger in my heart. Ok I have to ask, and call me blondeeee either way, is this about "our" Dark Stranger??? cause wow either way....I keep this, you seem to be doing a great job in your class....is it too late for me to enroll???? It is because of you that I went to these classes. and I love them. thank you so much. floria Gentle Spirit. thank you very much for the boost.. floria Sea thank you, you all encourage me so . floria Greeneyes, yes this was done for a class and I hadnt even thought about the coincidence with out "dark stranger" till you mentioned it.. Actually I had to use a particular sentence in this poem and this is what evolved from it. So the answer is no, Not the same person, just a fiction of my imagination...thanks much, and , oh yes, you could join, but you don't need to , hahahah truly you don't. floria Ecrivan, thank you so much, the encouragement helps a lot. floria Floria |
