I awoke happy for life,
I breathed in the crisp cool air,
I looked around and gave thanks,
Thanks that I live in America,
America the Land of Freedom,
America the Land of God,
I awoke and remembered in God we Trust.

Lovely poem. I like but it is not the whole truth. Is it not the Whole World that is the Land of God? To restrict it to America is a bit rich. Here is another prospective.

America is a natural land
With Californian sun and sand
Arizona sunsets and Rocky Mountains
Alaska Kenai Fjords and City of Fountains
Florida surf and Grand Canyon Park
Paradise lost and New York in the dark.

Yet you seem to forget
America is full of silhouette.
America dropped the H-bomb in 1945
American takes it's own youths life
In Korea, Cambodia and Vietnam
America sheared lives of God's lamb.

The heights by great men reached and kept
Were not attained by sudden flight,
But they while their companions slept
Were toiling upward in the nigh

I do not imply God is not everywhere, I just state that thank God we still trust in God, and how amazingly he is, God is no doubt known throughout the land, sadly to say there are wars and continue to be wars of course we could write a huge book on it. As for me I am proud to be an American and to know we can worship God openly and trust in his power no doubt God is everywhere.
We are just part of his family adopted by God.
