Let us trade annual buds
of yesterday
as you inhale
the scent of gardenia
and feel sheer black note
and  taste satin words
across your lips
beneath velvet skies
nourished by moonlight
in your eyes
blooming forever
like the stars
embraced in the night
like silhouettes
upon our wall tonight

"If music be the food of love, play on."  (William Shakespeare)
