She dreams of white knights in shining armor,
A man of true sight and lasting valor,
To rescue and to carry her away
Nobel fighter that always saves the day.

Dream lover please don’t fade in the waking.

She dreams of a house with white picket fence,
A garden where butterflies lightly dance,
A husband true and children of laughter,
Home to live happily ever after.

Dream cottage please don’t fade in the waking.

She woke finding she was again alone,
In the dirty alley she had made home,
Her dreams now replaced by reality,
A day to roam till tonight’s fantasy.

Gloom

even though this is sad, it's something I think folks can relate to....I like this style of sonnet. very cool. Is that something you did on your own or is that a way of doing sonnets?!

Thank you, Sea,
This is my own style of sonnet,
One that I work with occasionally,
I’m pleased you like it.
The main feature is the repeating lines,
Or very similar lines, which tend to bind the three stanzas.

Well done! We should all have dreams - though they don't have a chance of coming true....

Prof

I enjoyed this look at dreams perhaps impossible, and the sadness of someone's reality.  You write well!

Wow, a gloom sonnet, this is wonderful. Too bad it had to end like that, I would have loved to see her be happy and taken care of. But then that wouldnt be a gloom sonnet would it. HAHAHAH great work gloom. loved it. floria
