Just a note that's all it was At least that's what I thought I could not know this scented page Would give me all I sought On paper screwed with faded ink Not worth a passing glance And yet this scrap, this tiny scrap Would lead me to romance The ink was blurred as if by tears And wonder did I see, For on this note this little thing Were mother's words to me, Be brave and kind and look for love Were all the words she wrote But all the joy that I could find Were in this tiny note I took this note from its niche Folded it with care In my pocket soon it went T'was carried everywhere Then one day through wind and hail As I fought and was storm tossed My coat was clutched to me but then My scented note was lost I searched high and I looked low Not caring I was drenched If my note was lost then I Could not survive heart wrenched A careful voice humble yet strong Called me from behind Excuse me miss did you drop this My luck it was to find I looked in eyes of deepest brown A face to make one weep As I gave thanks while his hand shook I gave my heart to keep Over coffee and some cake We talked the rain away I gave my number on the note And he returned next day. All the things that I had dreamed But never found by plan I found in him by lucky chance The wondrousness of man I stood there on my wedding day Eyes scented by surprise For my mother standing tall Stood right before my eyes I love you dear and now know this This man to you I sent On the wind, that stormy day I took the note from your coat's rent My blessing love, I give to you And now you will receive A man who loves you deep and true In loving you'll believe There is no death, that outlasts love The note has shown you this And now my love go to your man I leave you with a kiss My dearest daughter you remain The closest thing to me So take the note that joined you two Use it to set me free. I took the note and understood Just what she meant for me On the altar wreathed in smoke A charred note set her free Although the years were passing soft I sing no sad lament For when I'm sad I recall The note and my mum's scent. Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown [This message has been edited by Kethry (04-04-2002 08:31 AM).] |

Keth darling sister of my heart and holder of the stars light this was as usual for you utterly utterly wonderful. Do you know how utterly beautiful this poem is? The style is pure you, the story is breathtakingly lovely and the execution is without doubt one of your finest ever. If I were to enthuse all day and all night I still wouldn’t be able to describe how magnificent and what a truly outstanding piece of writing this is. YOU KNOW I LOVE IT this is absolutely exquisite writing Love and warm stuff As always Mushy To give light to them that sit in darkness..... to guide our feet into the way of peace Luke 2:79 |

Kethry~ This was the best kind of love story. These words should be framed in Gold. Oh, you must make your Mum so proud. |
