Twilight

The twilight of my night is here
I cannot make it disappear.
I weigh me down a leaden crown
It makes me often feel a clown.

It vacillates nearly do
The impossible of you
Impregnates a dossal mind
Makes a knot of hopeless bind.

We butterfly in golden skies
And siphon off the bilge of why
But a tail too long upon a kite
Makes for a hazy crazy flight.

And though delight would ever dare
It must in flight a sober air.
Or turn in flash and spiral down
To soon to crash upon the ground

And though I feel the phantoms flight
Some how I know, it is not right.

Seymour darling boy, what a delight to have my day made complete again by having your words scattered before me like a delicious buffet. At which I nibble and taste the cornucopia of delight that is a poem by you.

You know I really do adore this poem, something about this particular one calls to me. It has a different though familiar feel, familiar in the attitude not the words they are most definitely your own. Be that as it may it has a piquancy that is truly you.

But a tail too long upon a kite
Makes for a hazy crazy flight.

And though delight would ever dare
It must in flight a sober air.
Or turn in flash and spiral down
To soon to crash upon the ground

And though I feel the phantoms flight
Some how I know, it is not right.

Something that is eternally right is your writing, as always it is absolutely excellent. Stunningly good writing

(sigh) This is so sadly beautiful, sweet friend, every joy may have some kind of twilight every now and then, but as long as we believe in ourselves and hold our memories and dreams dear, it will be much more than a phantom thought always! (big hugggsssss) This is superb, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Seymour, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Seymour,

As always, your poetry is a breath of fresh air.  Funny how we sometimes take flight on our own wings, but forget to check the engine before take-off.  Excellent write, as always.  Take care .

It is truly a fine art.  Well said and done Mr. Tabin~

Thank you for the fine words.

Lauren,
Thank you dear.

BlueSerenade,
And that is a fine reply.

Larry C,
The trick is to shorten the tail.

JM,
Then I will see you by the sea for tea.
