She waited to run into his arms for him to walk through the door in her lace negligee she waited all day for midnight she prayed to hold him in her arms once more Intimate dinner for two bubbly champagne on ice while the time ticked by past midnight she cried alone on her bed alone on her pillow one last chance to say good bye But the night drifted on like the tears in her eyes wondering if he was dead or alive she discovered the dawn the dawn of a new day packed her overnight bag and like a dove flew away back to reality reality of someone waiting just for her.
