When…….You Are
A question and answer poem

When there’s no sun to shine my sky
No reason for my lips to release a sigh
When the rainbow has lost its hue
Or my hands can’t reach out to you
When there’s no reason to my rhyme
Or eternity seems too short a time
When my heart has lost its song
Or I feel that I can not go on

You are the sun your soul warms me
Flooding my heart with love’s clarity
No confusion reigns when you are near
Love’s peace calms me I lose all fear
Trust fills my soul with such delight
All doubt leaves me it feels so right
My raison d’être that’s what you are
My light, my sky, my shining star

When I lose my way and I’m stuck
Or I’m all alone and out of luck
When the maze I’m in leads me astray
Or I think that I can’t find my way
When the road ahead seems far too long
Or the chance I had has simply gone
When troubles call out my name
Or my soul feels as if it’s gone insane

You are my star your soul guides me
You steer my heart to the shore safely
With your light I can see the way
In peace and love my heart will stay
Truth covers my heart with such bliss
I’m held in love, I’m caressed by this
The simple truth is that you love me
Today, tomorrow, for all eternity
