An Apology From Me To You Or why I’ve not been here I know I’ve not been around very much But I still feel your tender loving touch I feel your breath whispering to me Telling of this, of that and of poetry There’s a reason I’ve not shown my face And no dear friend I’m not in disgrace It’s toothache that has kept me away It hurts a lot and I don’t feel like play I have popped my head around the door Filled up my soul while my face is sore I’ve touched your hand, and held on tight Then read your words long into night I’ve replied with the odd word or two Still it’s hard to tell each one of you How much your writing means to me While the pain throbs in me endlessly I’m sorry my friends I really do care Your beauteous rhymes I love to share I’m not ignoring you, as you’ll soon see When you read there I love it utterly When tomorrow comes I will be fine I’ll have had it fixed in record time Tomorrow when I’m not in such pain I’ll be on these blue pages once again Marsha To give light to them that sit in darkness..... to guide our feet into the way of peace Luke 2:79 |
