How long have you and I been friends?
It seems a lifelong time
The tears have come too early friend
Both yours as well as mine

We take for granted many things
Until their end we see
A lifetime’s not a long time
Or it seems quite short to me

Too quickly life can change around
Without consent or blessing
None of us the future know
Each day we just keep guessing

I’d like to say so much to you
But words express not thought
Just let me wish joy in time
And love that can’t be bought

Together we’ve been challenged
Together we both try
Together we’re together
Together we’ll get by

I don't believe I've caught your work before and I like it a lot. Perhaps we Victorians should form a poets enclave for down under.

BTW, you look exactly like I imagine another Victorian poet friend who writes free verse looks like.

Dear Kethry, thank you so much for your reply, nice to hear from another Victorian indeed, I have enjoyed this site for amost a year now, finding many friends and a lifetime of talents. I must catch up with some of your work in the near future.
