There is Another ©2002 C.G. Ward there is another… if the skyline could bounce between rays of inspiration, or the sea could digest the implications of a smile… and then, if forgiveness came at full retail value, i could then walk along these roads leading the challenge of us into a sunset of pure understanding. somehow, though, there is another. it is a play on words to say that the day dawns brightest for those who cannot see, when our humidity drowns the sorrow of today’s chill until it cries: a sodden heartache of loss - melting - into a pool of no regrets. see, now, there is another. still, if we can progress from the taint of a sacrilegious blessing, and we can turn the volume… up, there lies before us a sea of futures, nestled softly in the warmth of appreciation. because now… there is another. |

... reading this again. Perhaps the fifth trip over the last night and morning? Still thinking... thinking... so many interpretations; SO many... even knowing parts of you... ~smile~ reminds me of someone. I'll share that later. You have a collection of incredible lines here... (sigh) but to say that really... seems to disgrace. How to speak of techincalities when ... when this. (to steal: the pang of feeling that i've botched yet another set of potentially important words) Reflection, of course. And blinding but soft(like the sun at the moment through my curtains): Hope. |

What do YOU know about humidity, California boy? There's some imagery in here that I really dig. I'm jealous, a couple of your lines are fabulous. Seriously - I love the effect of this: "or the sea could digest the implications of a smile… and then, if forgiveness came at full retail value," Sweet - and this: a sodden heartache of loss - melting - into a pool of no regrets. YES. I love that. Well done of course. BOL Nic |

Christopher~ You have written the truth in circumstance. To accept and forgive and try to understand all that is going on around us. It is no easy feat, but it can be done if and when we see beyond the here and now! Thank you for this!! |

Can I buy some forgiveness? I relate too much to this poem. Really enjoyed it. |

This captured hold of me. I’m sure I’m not reading this how you wrote it, but to me, it seemed to speak of a love going wrong, but then, trying to right the wrong because a baby is on the way. Anyway, no matter what the interpretation, it really is a fantastic piece of poetry, and made me read more than once. If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please? |

Ocean Princess: uhmm... quite a glowing reply. not that i have a problem with it, mind you, but... err... what do you want? Nic: I used to live in Illinois. I know ALL about humidity... there's nothing like taking a shower, then stepping outside your house to find it's a moot point because the humidity is so high it's almost raining! Thank you cutie. Nancy: EXACTLY what i was going for... the comforting feel. that was, in a way, the entire purpose of this... though few things are so one-sided. Thank you. Blues: -And therein lies the crux. Who gains more from acceptance or forgiveness? Perhaps we only find out beyond the here and now. Thank you for your thoughts. Walker: Sorry... due to high demand, the stores are all sold out! Thank you Tracey: that wasn't my intention, and i have to admit that at first i was confused as to how you could interprret it that way. When i went back over it with that in mind however, i can certainly see how you came to that conclusion. Thank you for another insight. M-Redux: No plus. C |

In review… I’m seeing now, hope, but also a push: a soothing with firmness. It reads at first as if there is almost regret at the other… and I’ve been trying to read around that… see where it takes me, and this is what I’ve found: (spoken from peam) If we could make this easy, if we could have healed the whole process beginning to end, and ended up where we first expected, I would have wanted that. Somehow, though, even then -- were we to erase the then or mend the now -- there is another. It moves on… a few metaphors for the current struggle toward a promising future… tenderness, I think, giving recognition to the loss, and all grief surrounding; and that insistent ‘our’, which isn’t a demand, just an ‘is’ … but does take the reader, face in palms, and force them to look: "I'm IN this, it's happening to me too, it's not even you or me, there is still US here" : ‘we’: the way a country fights a war, not the individual soldiers (and that’s a different play on words ~smile~) , and how, too, it doesn’t have to be a battle… but a natural evolution: melting (not without pain… but how slow, and sure: faithful to the laws of nature). (spoken) Your expectations are in the wrong direction, and you’re being harmed over and over because of it… stop trying to force it that way, stop trying to make me solidify -- which is draining all energy, and only going to cause you more pain and frustration, because it is impossible; we cannot reverse this state (you can’t burn down an ice sculpture, stick it in the freezer and expect it to recreate itself) -- take what is and just melt (that was bad, I know, no plus). This throws me: see, now, there is another perhaps to show, with new eyes… how that’s okay. Because… (next stanza) and this is, not a list of answers, but possibilities… there is still Hope… just a different kind (I feel is being said) we can’t maintain it this way… (spoken soothingly, firm)… but look at what we Have. We’ve a whole sea of beautiful contingencies… turn around and Look. And I disagree, I think the next spoken 'because' has merit… a closing note. That final little push… we must go forward, of all bridges burned and all chances taken, though we’ve spun ourselves out on our own… regardless, we still need the direction in which we’re moving… well, now, there is another, there is that absolute in our way if you can’t see the other barriers… maybe you’ll wake up, finally (I hear) and let this become what it can… because, there is another. It's messy, I know... I never was one for clear writing... I hope this is understood, any questions, of course: please ask... |
