A Crown of Thorns

how could they?!
incredulous, I, to think
anyone could do such a heinous crime
as to place a crown of thorns
upon His head

how could they lace together
thorny spikes
so long, so rigid, so piercing?
how could they weave, intertwine,
such crimes as those to mark His brow,
to drain His life,
one drip at a time?

how could anyone be so unfeeling
as to premeditate injuries so permeating,
as those stabbing wounds,
gouged into His skin
deriving their own pleasures
from such action

it’s as if temporal elation is enough of a reward
for Him to pay their price; for Him to declare
“Account paid in full!”
for all the ‘charging’ they’ve done
against His Holy Name
against this Holy One

yet, now I see
how I stand here
forgiven
knowing it was
my temporal satisfactions,
my selfish wants
that did the placing,
that did the weaving,
as much as they

it is I
whom He names,
“Forgive them, Father,
for they know not
what they do.”

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Virginia, this too always baffles me, how some people could do such a hideous crime to him like this to him and have him suffer like this! (big hugggssssss) This is so heartaching but also filled with hope, sweet friend, God Bless You and have a Happy Easter, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Virginia, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

And yet, if He had not allowed it, in the will of the Father, it could not have been done. He  allowed it because the wounds were already there...each one of us caused them and by God's grace we are forgiven, the moment we ask and receive.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

And after 2000 years ...
we still wonder how man can inflict these and other atrocities upon another living being
~
Yet we know that god will forgive us all ... regardless

Hi VAS,

Thank you for the reminder of the gretest sacrifice ever given, and nice to be reading your work.

Love, Cerenity
