From dawning's birth I did not hatch
until I saw the morning rise.
I rose a fledgling from the thatch
and saw your glory with my eyes.

Upon my branch there was a nest
akin to my own in design.
From it rose-to the fleeting west-
a bird  on whom the morning shined.

And with a feeble step I took
closer drew to her side, I
upon the shaky branches shook
then grew stable--and come noontide.

Sweetly into her eyes I gazed,
as chirps of heart between us spoke.
The sun peaked its height and we, raised,
were still fledglings who just awoke.

Until the ev'ning come that night,
we but grew closer in our heart.
As sky grew crimson, we took flight
to eternity- we one part.

For all my life I've flown with thee,
as soaring birds-eternal mates-
I by grace, you by winged beauty,
for none lift me more than my Kate.

---------------

This is another poem I wrote during school to a friend to cheer her up. Well, actually, she had heard about my previous poem to a friend to cheer that friend up, and she became jealous and instantly demanded a poem. This is the product of about the fourth of a period I was able to write it in. Hehe.

My goodness. You are talented. I would have worked on something like this for hours, and I don't think I could have got a like result if I worked days. I like this.
