Just inside heaven's gate
Is where you said you'd be
I'd know exactly where to find you
Beneath the beautiful birch tree

Together we made this arrangement
Just before you passed away
My life hasn't been the same
Since the events of that dreadful day

I am unable to foresee
On which day I'll join you there
But I'm needed here right now
For my love I need to share

The past three years have been difficult
But still my life has moved along
I've tried so hard to be happy
For you I've tried to be strong

Not a single day goes past
When I don't stop and think of you
And in the early hours of slumber
Your image often comes into view

So please save me a place
For I will meet you there one day
And until we are together
Inside my heart is where you'll stay

Sue,  your father is undoubtably very very
proud of you,  even now...  For you have
written and shown nothing but the greatest
love for him...Any man would be honored to
have a young woman as you to be their
daughter,  and earn the respect and love
you have shown to your own...

(big hugggsssssss) I agree with Magnus with all my heart, you are very special to him and always will be and he is so proud and lucky to have such a loving daughter like you just as I know he is delighted that he has passed on the gift of poetry to you and he will always be so proud of what you write from your golden heart! (kiss on cheek) God Bless You, sweet friend, I know when the time is right you will reunite with him and be with him forever! We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is precious! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sue, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

This really touched me deeply, Sue...
My first husband died of cancer, almost 3 years ago...and your poem actually could have been me...talking to him.
I think I have said those words or similar ones to him many times...
Now I am once again in love and re-married, but not a single day goes by when I don't think about him....he was my very first love and the father of my children.
Fortunately, I have a wonderful new husband who completely understands this.
Thanks for sharing this beautiful and heartfelt poem with us.
  ~hugs~
