Teach

Time and tide took her whim
casting thoughts on out to him
he in turn stood still, and stern
He requested her: look, and learn!

She held her hands for him to see
wear and tear of monotony
and filled with tears her eyes then did
for her heart would do his bid

And took the hour by its toll
from her dreams the time she stole
and opened heart to bring withal
that which would carry beyond the pall

Teach me! is all she asked
and he, burdened with his own task
left behind a trail of crumbs
and yet, she would not succumb

Teach me! her heart would plead
for so deep this very need
and bound was she to honor Words
her blood was piqued for she would stir

a rhythm to rhyme or let it flow
if nothing more, nothing more than show
tribute! Praise! Give Accolades!
Before her very light would fade…

Time and tide took her whim…
She held her hands for him to see…

Ink stains beheld but one word,
Glory.
