State of Suspended Passion

0 posted 2002-03-23 03:35 PM

drink from me the sadness that sends my soul
stirring and drifting along seas unsoft
in their knock upon the sands of my patience.
I am a rocking boat
tilting and swaying to every loud scream of wind
that draws its hand in slap across the face of my will
and I am no longer strong enough to carry the passenger of pain I accepted.

you sit in awe
and what you think is creatitivy
is really my soul turned up
like stereo volume with a good system for sorting through then noise rubble.
can I no longer be soft?
can I have back my frowns and brooding?

I'm not your bad girl
I'm the soft one
remember?
this is the me created for the softness you craved
and we're all mixing again
and what you think is creativity
is sometimes truth with a devilish tongue
licking at your perfect image of me.
I'm tired of seperating myselves
when I'm just one woman
with an abundance of simple complications.
I'm coming down from your pedestals
slipping
bruising my knees as my hands connect
with only empty branches of air.

am a rocking boat
tilting and swaying to every loud scream of wind
that draws its hand in slap across the face of my will
and I am no longer strong enough to carry the passenger of pain I accepted.

"My ears have not yet drunk a hundred words
Of that tongue’s uttering, yet I know the sound:" "Romeo and Juliet"

Very well said, Siofra. A heartfelt cry to be accepted as you are, with all the normal 'complications' of a multi-faceted human.

A very compelling piece Siofra.

I'm coming down from your pedestals
slipping
bruising my knees as my hands connect
with only empty branches of air.

This part reminds me of what I once said to someone “take me off that damn pedestal, cause it hurts so much each time I fall off”. Yep, I know where you’re coming from with this.

when the boat is taking on water. . . do we keep going??

hmm. . . I find that there's more here then I think. . . and that makes it an excellent poem. . .

I can feel the ache in this,
and the hope for such
to end.

This ache knows its end in arms of love.

Thank you.
