I found a message in a bottle
Washed up on the sandy shore
Where on earth had it come from
And who was it intended for?

Curiosity got the better of me
As I carefully looked around
I was making sure that no others
Had come to claim this treasure I'd found

So I slowly pulled out the cork
And read the note I found inside
Words of love I found myself reading
A gift of love from the incoming tide

Visions of all things romantic
Swirled dreamily around my head
Feelings of love and yearning
I felt from each and every word I read

These words could have been a love song
They were true words of love for sure
Beautiful words with so much feeling
They were the key to my heart's door

A knight in shining armour
Galloping towards me on his steed
So many wonderful images
Came from the words that I did read

But all too soon I was back to reality
As I put the message back inside
I cast the bottle back out to sea
And watched it taken with the tide

Now I wonder who will find it
As it heads on out to sea
I hope it brings them joy
As it most certainly did for me

Wow...this is wonderful!  I have been known to do just this..place a message in a bottle and toss it into the lake...such fun wondering where they may end up.  Of course they weren't romantic messages...just fun ones.  Enjoyed the read and the memories it stirred up.
Thank you for this one...hugs.

Suetang...Very intriguing poem. Loved the vision of finding a note of love inside a bottle washed ashore by the cresting sea.

Your bottle washed upon my shore,
I held it in my hand,
then I decided to throw it back
to sail away to some far away land.

Long ago, I lost faith in love
so the bottle wasn’t meant for me.
I’m destined to walk the tide alone
it was best sent it out to sea.

Sue, love message in the bottle tales, this is a keeper!

Neat poem Sue!  I am always watching for bottles when we're at the ocean.  Have never found an intact one, just pieces. It's an intriguing thought, that someone can write a message and cast it into the sea in a bottle and have it turn up somewhere.  I heard of one once that had been at sea for years. Much like the fisherman's floats.  We have found some of those and it's a big thrill!

Sue!!!!

You found it!!!

Just Kidding....Yes..that would certainly be
a most fun and intriguing thing...to find
such beautiful words inside a bottle...
wondering who might have written them...and
possibly when?

Beautiful Poem!!

Thank you all for your lovely comments.

Barry, it could well have been from you as the words were so beautifully romantic.  As you can see I'm just a dreamer.

Take care......Sue
