The magician, slick tongued and sleek
In wanton acts, the trick and shadow seek
Un-caped before the promise made so light of hand
To vanish in the question of a question by demand

The politician same with whiter shirt and tie
In trip-you-ups procured with promise sly
Un-clothed to stand before the very words pronounced
To vanish in the question that was answered and denounced

The patrician, an honored and most congenial host
In vagrant chants of wars once lost to raise a toast
Un-covered in the light of truth and at the feet of justice blind
To vanish in the question without any answer left to find

The lover, a soul in seeking with but one complete embrace
In the hands of fate and at the mouth of majesty to race
Un-hindered by realities that raise a question from the rush
To vanish in the answer un-disturbing of the cosmic hush

ThisDiamond...Beauty and grace in this witty, rhymed poem.  Nice comparisons, too.

Bravo!  This is most excellent writing!

Stars will shine when I am gone
Earth will spin on as before
Gulls still race along the shore
Morning star, still kiss the dawn
