The Shores of Alone

0 posted 2002-03-17 09:13 PM

I have been obsessively
running frantically
to save my Grandmothers old photographs
(they have made it this long)
Suddenly, I must copy them all
Save and press their fine curled edges
and faded images-
make them strong again
before they die
like she did.
While I can still save them
I must
and all I can do
is run madly trying to accomplish this
all the while wishing
with all my heart
I could do the same
for her.

(smiles) Awwwwwwwww, that is so sweet of you to do such a wonderful thing for your loved ones, sweet friend, she will always be so proud of you and I just know when your children have families, they too will always want to preserve your pictures to remember such a loving person like you as they will behold the pictures you saved of your family! (kiss on cheek) We all love you so much, sweet friend, God Bless You! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sandra, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

catalinamoon....this hits me in the soul...my mom gave me my grandfathers photos from the 19teens (he was born in 1884) and I cherish them he was an artist and in the album I found a collage of photos, a beautiful woman the subject...not my grandmother...but my grand dad's first wife..
she was beautiful..he must really have loved her...my grand mother gave the photos to my folks in the 1980s...no price can ever be put on treasures from the heart...mark

Ah, Sandra, how I wish your Gran could come back to you. But yes, save those photographs. Cause, as the years pass, they will mean even more to you. I just got some of my grandparents from my father (they died before I was born), and they mean so much to me. Trust me, they will bring a big smile to your face in years to come (if they don’t already)

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

This sure hits home.  I packed up things of my grandmother's that I knew I'd never use or need, just couldn't throw them away, 'cause they were hers.  You have a good heart, Sandra.

Sandra it is a gift of love that you give in preserving the pictures and her memory. This was truly beautiful and heartfelt.  Heart hugs.

Hello Sandra

This was beautifully written and I was able to relate to your words so easily.  I have many treasured photographs of my late father that I have framed, such precious memories.

Take care......Sue
