Along the line, my friend devine conveyed a kind of listless The coffee hot, and what was not, we discussed just like this As friends so do, I took my cue, and fed her lemon poppy A fire set, she took the bet, to kick-start this jalopy Missing spark left her light dark, and the ignition was still missing A sputter here, a mutter of fear, no time for reminiscing The cup of delight warming night gave her inspiration When t'was done after much fun, thus began their conversation These two so high in cheer did fly along the muses yellow And nothing could or ever would make merriment more mellow To ease the pain, and break the rain, a friendship and a treasure An oil change, in tune-up range, was all devine need pleasure Geared up and ready, the speed so heady, t'was now time to go Foot on the pedal, low grinding metal, the speed began as slow But faster run the trip begun but unknown their destination This diamond bright upon the night drove off in fascination Copyright Joint PoetDevine ThisDiamond 3/17/02 |
