Listening to every heart

0 posted 2002-03-16 08:59 AM

Nan

She spins sonnets
On the treadle
While her foot
Still rocks the cradle

She quilts by quill
Threading hearts
Her fairies alight
To take their part

We share a sun
Shining reveries
She is our Nan
Lady Poetry…

Auntie Kari warm smile this is a beautifully written poem. It’s flow and construction is excellent, put together with the warmth from your sunshine way. I like this one I like it a whole lot

I tried and I tried to spin a sonnet today - but my munchkins came by and I had to tend the cradle.. ya know how that is???

I even tried to quill a quilt... and the fairies took it apart when I wasn't looking...

The best I could do was line up some limericks... and enjoy the Sunshine...

Thank you muchly, m'friend...

I'm new to the 'shop
with Nan at the top.

I was here to sightsee
as Sunshine's invitee,

when Nan let me post
my thoughts uppermost.

So welcoming was she
to me, the attendee.

I've no need to roam;
my poems have come home.

I'm here to stay
and improve my wordplay.

With Sunshine's inspiration,
And Nan's kind invitation,

I now have a plan
to write all I can,

And write and rewrite
'til it's right.

THANKS FOR TEACHING, NAN.  YOU ARE FEEDING THE HUNGRY!!!

Shenachie
