Near golden sunsets

The dark came upon him suddenly
It enveloped him swiftly and completely
As a wave of shock and fear.

He swept at the inky blackness
With frantic screams and echoing shouts,
His eyes evincing frightened tears.

Eternity passed in the pitch of night
As the dying sank to the unseen floor
In sobbing gasps and exhausted moans.

The darkness relaxed his racing heart,
As he closed his eyes and calmed his nerves;
The pain vanished from his aching bones.

Time ticked on in uncounted days
He no longer fed his unreasonable fears
At peace within the endless night.

In death, an inner peace unfound in life;
He'd always been taught to fear the dark,
But now he fears the light.

WOW!!! This is very powerful, sweet friend, your words always speak to us all so powerfully! (sigh) I too think that as we grow we all fear this kind of thing to come at us abruptly, then as we grow wiser, we accept this kind of light with welcome! (big hugggsssss) This is fabulous, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Philip, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

darkness can be scary,
and gorillas can be hairy.
Maybe a gorrilla named Hairry.
