Passionate Mistakes
By Larry Chadwick

You may have left my life,
But you have never left my heart.
It’s true I don’t see you any more,
But in my mind we’re never far apart.

A love that had so much future,
Dashed by the innocence of life.
Broken hearted at a needless loss,
Always sure you’d be my wife.

Immaturity always exacts its toll,
Often with a life time of regret.
So now I live with the choices made,
Wondering what might have been…and yet

Fondly now you are fixed in my mind,
Sweet always are my memories of you.
Sacrifices made in the naivety of youth,
Convinced it was the right thing to do.

Never able to tell you the reasons why,
That I turned and walked away that day.
It was your virtue that I wanted to save,
In honor of you I had to stay away.

Well that was just so touching that poem, that I had to read it twice, and enjoyed even more round 2.  Nice going Larry.

The pursuit of truth and beauty is a sphere of activity in which we are permitted to remain children all our lives.

Sharon,
Thank you and it is all true. Gotta live with the what if's and if only's.

Sometimes it's a good thing we can only dream of the what if's and if only's.  I find the coulda shoulda woulda's haunt me more than the what if's and if only's.  Larry, you have such a wonderful way of expressing yourself.

Live today as if it's your last.  Love today as if it's your first.   Lisa

(sigh) I think we can all relate to these sacrifices in a way, sweet friend, I am kind of at this juncture in my life where I am in adolescence and going on from my phase of innocence and into adulthood, trying to find something to carry on with me from here on! (sigh) We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is very emotionally powerful! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Larry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Larry~

sometimes the answers can be as simple
as the nose on our face, but then
there are times when we have to
reach inside and take hold
of what aches......its a form of
letting go, even though the if's and only's
continue their every day riddle

I bet she still wonders. *S* This is beautiful, Larry... we always wonder about that road not taken... especially when our path seems to be uphill all the way. *S*

Interloper,
Thanks for noticing that. Close call but right choice I hope.

Mushy,
Sweetie you always make my day. No harm done here just a little pain.

amigo,
Well maybe...but it is still managable. Thanks.

suthern,
Confession time. We set the record straight at my 30th highschool reunion. It felt really good for both of us. She is very special to me still.
