Reversal of Gifts

I received two gifts for Christmas this year.
I must admit, I was twice surprised.
For one was from the soon to be ex
and the other a friend with love in his eyes.

The first was a strange one though beautiful in thought.
Antique light fixtures all made of brass.
Hammered design, to place on the porch,
the bulbs still attached, Victorian in class.

Unusual because he never has cared
to finish improvements, before this last year.
And now that we're over, he presents to me
a gift rather special, that will remain here.

The second gift followed, but was not meant for all,
inside black lace, wrapped, tissued red.
Sensuous, a gift, that I've never before had,
as I tried it all on, the blush of me spread.

I'd show you a picture, but it's not allowed
I've thought about placing it in the adults.
But a poem to write, I've a must before then,
still wondering if, and of what would result...

A reversal of gifts, strange though it seems.
when one knows you well, but gifts, not of warm.
And the other is twisting my life into dreams.
In poems, I write, as my world takes new form.

I relate alot to your gift experience.  The dog I write about sometimes was the result of an ex handing me money for my birthday one year and telling me to buy myself something.  So, I bought something that knew how to love me.
Great write, Maureen!

Victoria..of course not, tried it on for myself, partially to see if I could still fit into one. *s  * Between you and I, he hope for more than he shall ever receive *s

Duncan ...well I don't know about comparing my gift of lingeree with a dog that could return love but it did make me smile *s
Thanks for the kind words.

Noah...my new life is my old life with a change or two in the making...I can't give up the old entirely at my age *s..besides..ask anyone who knows me, I am stubborn *s.

Silver Streak...thank you for the kind wishes *s

How did you like the lacey stuff?
How did it make you feel?
I already know what you thought of the brass fixtures for your house.
I'll bet you truly enjoyed both feelings even though you could not fully express them the the givers

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

Geez Maureen!  I wasn't comparing the dog to your lingere...lol.  I may be blonde but I'm not that dumb.  Besides, I doubt he'd hold still long enough for me to get a little lace number on him.  lmao
