(This is a tribute to me and Joannas favorite music star, and the artist that has influenced our growing love to one another.

It also brings me great pleasure to introduce a challenge to you all. Think back to as far as the time you fell in love, or your first date, and write a poem about a song or artist your heard and how it has continued to touch your heart today with the one you love. This can be both a happy romantic one or a sad one! I believe everyone has a story behind finding true love, and I can't wait to read about all your magical first love feelings!)

A woman of grace, a woman of spirit
God gave her a name, Shakira

Everyone knows it just takes a little "Magia" to make your dreams come true
Through rose-colored glasses, you see the world in a romantic view
Just toss a coin into a washing machine
You've got a Laundry Service of a Muse that gleams

You soar from Colombia like a blue morpho butterfly
With romantic songs that bring tears to my eyes
I would walk a thousand miles just to give you a hug
And see you with Joanna in concert to hear your music I love

Shortly after you stepped into my life, my love
We fell in love with her music together, crooning like lovesick doves
Every night before I fall asleep I turn my laptop on
Just to write love poems to you and hear all her songs

Every word you sing is like me and Joannas motivation
Bringing us together in young loves affection
I would walk a thousand miles just to give you a hug
And see you with Joanna in concert to hear your music I love

Noah, congratulations on 8,000 posts. Your poem and thoughts of love and music are very sweet and romantic, indeed. My first date was before television and car radios. But I look forward to seeing what the younger poets remember in beautiful music comes from your challenge. God bless you, friend.

Noah, I like Shakira a lot too. She seem so sweet, as well as her bold talent.
Cogratulations on 8000, too. You are so kind to everyone, and it shows!
As for that challenge, my first love, most assuredly NOT one I want to remember, so maybe I can come up with a song that reminds me of another love.
