Morning Coffee with Iambe |

The house looked the same And George’s old truck was back Waiting for Iambe to change the water pump. I walked in and fixed myself a cup of coffee Then wandered back to the garage To watch Iambe work. Her overalls gaping open on the side As she bent over the fender Revealed slope of breast, while her hands In deft twist and move Worked those Mechanical miracles George depended on To keep his old fleet running. I can’t dance And my hands are not magical to machines So I sat and watched thinking about her overalls what was underneath, knowing the coffee wasn't any hotter. |

So I sat and watched thinking about her overalls what was underneath, knowing the coffee wasn't any hotter. ===================================== "She" inspires great things in you.... but then our pretty blue flames always do. |

Just goes to show that beauty can't hide even under a coat of grease or overalls! Very nice prose! *S* |

Sheesh, George's truck is as much a character as the other two in this poem! Sounds like my van, though it doesn't leak antifreeze. Just oil. :p Anyway, I could feel the burn. |
