The distance keeps growing, and it will not stop snowing on footprints of long ago, of what I used to know Of the days that lie ahead there is nothing but dread, for with each passing day a little more slips away My eyes only gaze within to see what might have been They’re not in the here and now They just yearn to get back somehow My hands are in severe pain, but clinching them is in vain For it is sadly for naught, senseless, to live in a thought But a dreamer may dream, though, it is as it seems That the snow will keep falling and some day, I’ll stop recalling © David 2002 [This message has been edited by GenXer (02-27-2002 09:49 PM).] |

well expressed! Senseless to live in the past, time marches on for all of us but thoughts and recollections are precious, I hate to forget...before you know all of what we do will be rewritten, and I hate to think of the variations from the what really was continue the recall for a long long time as Karilea mentions! Dave darling boy oh this is sooooooo good. Truly outstanding, as always, you are such a fine poet. I love the way you’ve written this, it’s utterly beautiful, and your rhyme is divine all the way through And I know this is all behind you darling boy Now weren’t we supposed to be counting in threes? Jacket, shirt, tie, …….. You really are an excellent poet darling boy, and as for Krissy, well I promise I keep her under restraint, okay try to keep her under restraint Wonderful writing utterly wonderful Love and warm stuff As always Mushy To give light to them that sit in darkness..... to guide our feet into the way of peace Luke 2:79 |

David I love your words - been there and done that! You have said what many of us have been thinking. "But a dreamer may dream, though, it is as it seems That the snow will keep falling and some day, I’ll stop recalling" |

Dave Hi there I’m here now so you can say bye bye to mum, you want the younger one surely? You know I’m only joking don’t you? So when do you take her off my hands then? Shall I send her over now? This poem is wonderful, it shows heartache clearly but also hope, I like the spirit of hope here. Well written Dave very well written Love and warm stuff As always Krissy And while thy willing soul transpiers |

Dave, this is a poem which contains many feelings, all real...some too real...but such is life for us all. You have expressed this well...Look ahead, and don't look back unless only to grow from it... |

That run through dreams as though real, losing our breath, waking with a gasp, falling through the twilight, holding on to ... what... I felt the clinch in your fist.... |

David, I relate to this so much lately.... this is a fantastic write "My eyes only gaze within to see what might have been They’re not in the here and now They just yearn to get back somehow" this part, I know. |
